Welcome to my first newsletterYou may know me from Tradestaff or other businesses I have been involved in, or perhaps even we have met socially; however if we know each other you will know that I talk, a lot. For years I have been providing my experience, knowledge and voice to different people and organisations for free. Now I've decided to get a bit more serious about it and actually let people know what I do. This newsletter is intended to educate, entertain and point you in the direction of my funky new website www.kec.co.nz. KEC stands for Kevin Eder Consulting and the website provides information on my services in public speaking, business coaching, Business training and contains an archive of articles I have written over the last few months. Hey, there are even some nice things on there that other people have said about me. I have sent this first newsletter to you and have included your email address on my database for future newsletters which will come out every 6 weeks or so. If you don't want to receive my newsletters, just click on the unsubscribe button at the bottom and after I've had a wee cry I'll remove your details. |

Sydenham Rugby
It also had its funny moments as Canterbury had lost the same day to the Tradestaff Bay of Plenty Steamers in an AirNZ cup match and while Sydenham had 4 players in the Canterbury team I was there wearing my BOP scarf proudly. In what was a complete surprise the club presented me with the Club Personality of the year award. I was completely blown away and very proud. |

The training manualSometimes you hear of a mother who with an adrenalin rush has lifted a car off her child, or of people who have managed incredible feats that seem too amazing to be physically possible. While we're not super heroes there is no doubt that we too can achieve quite remarkable things when we put our mind to it. Take a moment to remember when you last had an "impossible deadline" to meet or had to pull something off to exceed a client's expectations and how good it felt when you did it. I'm not sure about you, but I love that feeling of working under pressure and much prefer a tight deadline than an open ended arrangement. Truth is I'll often just leave it to the last minute anyway. But I have found a way to achieve those almost super hero things every day. It's called SPEED. |

Kevin's worldSeptember was an incredibly busy month but in the good kind of way. It started with a conference and some market research in the beautiful Bay of Islands, followed by the Sydenham rugby dinner as highlighted above then on to some great highs and interesting lows in the Hawkes Bay, a memorable staff function in Tauranga, meeting this years Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Finalists and finally finishing off in a paradise called - Hamilton Island! Read all about it here including where to go and where NOT to stay. | ||||||
Latest article | Less is more!Recently I had to try and explain the 'less is more' concept to one of my teenage daughters. It got me thinking about how relevant ‘less is more’ has become in today's world. (more...) |
